Hello,

As subject, is this something you would consider adding to Skyroof?

If not does anyone have any recommendations, of software that would compliment Skyroof nicely?

Hi Gavin:

Most of the telemetry decode programs are separate programs that take the audio from the tracking program. PE0SAT has a nice page on decoding. I haven’t tried this, but I’m betting that a virtual audio cable (VB-Audio) would do the trick to pipe the audio from SkyRoof to the respective decoding program.

Ah, that’s interesting. That’s sorta how I do packet reception with SkyRoof and UISS. UISS now includes soundmodem. It all works well.

I haven’t tried SatDump. Things to work on … Thanks Jack !

Nope doesn't work that way. You have to pipe the audio to the correct UH7ZO sound modem, which will then send that data to the decoding program. Depending on the satellite, you will need to use different sound modem software for that bird you are trying to decode.
You might try Sat Dump.

Hi,

I want to use SkyRoof as tracking software to follow sats with my rotor, and use esp32 with Lora to pull the telemetry data. On my omni this already works. Take a look at tinygs.com

Hi Gert:

Wow ! That’s interesting. You need to tell us more about TinyGS ! Is it intended to collect data which goes [where], in order to help prevent satellite collisions ? I’m a bit confused there.

How are you controlling your rotor now ? What protocol ? What kind of rotor is it ? On my stub tower, I have the ubiquitous Yaesu G-5500 using a Fox Delta ST2 USB (basically an LVB tracker) which uses the EasyComm 1 protocol. Works perfectly in SkyRoof.
