Hi all,
I have a new IC9700 and connected it to SkyRoof/SkyCAT (1.6). That works ok, but I get still "bad reply" errors in the SkyCAT screen. I updated the IC-9700 json config file to the latest 22-8-2026.
That crashes ? The old one is from 6-6-2026. That works with the errors.
Does anyone know what I should do to get rid of the errors ?
The version of the 9700 firmware is 1.5 (main).

Get SkyCAT 1.7, it includes the latest json file for IC-9700.

You best always get the latest version of the software you use. In this case skyroof latest and skycat latest. Ik work with the same rig 9700 1.5 it works fine.

Hi there,

I’m running the latest versions of SkyRoof and SkyCat but unfortunatelly the software is not reading neither changing the radio frequency.

I wonder the ones who have the softwares working properly with the IC-9700 can help me with its configuration.

I suspect that some radio setting is preventing it from working correctly.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Check your radio settings as shown below.   If you make changes using these settings, restart your SkyCAT and Skyroof to see what your results are.

  • On the IC-9700: Menu → Set → Connectors → CI-V → set CI-V USB Port to "Unlink from REMOTE."

  • Confirm CI-V Address = A2h and CI-V Transceive = OFF.

Thanks,

Thank you Jeremy for your help.

SkyCAT is now controlling the IC-9700 alongside SkyRoof.

As I suspected, the radio settings weren't quite right. The CI-V Address was set to 94h, and CI-V Transceiver was set to ON.

The issue is that all the other software I use with the IC-9700—such as Logger32, JTDX, WSJT, and others—uses CI-V Address 94h.

Alex, is there an option in SkyCAT to change the CI-V Address to 94h so I don't have to change it every time I switch programs?

Thanks,

Ron

Ron, you can edit the IC-9700.json file that comes with SkyCAT, and replace the address in it with your custom address.
