Hello Bird Chasers:

I can happily report that the IC-706MK2G works well with this software as the transmitter. Before I had the FT-818 hooked up and after I finally figured out that the TX CAT setting needed to be other than Duplex transceiver (in this case, there’s an actual FT-817 entry), it worked fine. Well, after I setup rigctld for the Icom and then started SkyRoof, it just worked.

The extra power of the Icom helps too. I heard my CW dits easily but I need to figure out how to set Doppler better. I’m used to SatPC32 and using the CAT control to add/subtract 10, 100, or 1000 Hz to the uplink to mostly dial it in. I’ll work it out.

Congrats, Jamie! I am glad that it works for you. Aligning the uplink and downlink frequencies is a two-step process described in the Frequency Scale section of the manual under  Aligning The Uplink and Downlink Frequencies . You set the Manual Correction offset for the downlink first, then for the uplink.
