The help screen for SkyCAT shows --list as an instruction to list available radio models.

When I try to use the function, it throws an error about not being able to start the server due to lack of instructions for a radio with the ID of 0.

So, evidently to find out what the correct model designation is for my radio (using the one that is the name of the relevant .json file does not work), I need to enter the model designation of my radio.

The Github manual says to use the same instructions as I would use for rigctrld.  I do not use that or have it on my computer.

Please wait for SkyCAT 1.5 and SkyRoof 1.21, I hope to release them tomorrow. The new version of SkyCAT will accept both model numbers and names, e.g. -m IC-9700. For now, you can find the list of model numbers here:

I am eagerly awaiting the release versions.  In the meantime, thanks for the link.  That is what I needed for setup and testing.

Testing failed. Skycat does not like the com port.  It says it does not exist, despite Device Manager clearly listing it.

Check if the port is already open in another app. Check if the Baud rate is correct. Send me the SkyCat log.

I will try again with v1.5 and report back as you suggest if needed.
