FT_847 CAT control

Hi. I cannot get my FT_847 to talk to Skyroof. I have rigctld talking to my rig but there is no connection to Skyroof even though TX CAT and TX CAT settings are showing that they are being controlled via rigctld. I have also tried to use Skycat which also connects to my rig but I don't know how to change the settings in Skyroof to change control from rigctld to Skycatd.

Hi James:

I have a FT-847 and have had no trouble with it and SkyRoof. The setup of SkyCAT is exactly the same as rigctld- just put the appropriate command line parameters in the shortcut to SkyCAT - in your (our) case, -m 1001. Make sure to add the verbose vvvvv so that you can get a good log, in case something goes south. 

I just use the FT-847 as the transmitter and an AirSpy R2 as the receiver to gain the full use of the SkyRoof software. Works excellent ! You might want to check the JSON downloads for any updates to your radio’s command file.

I have Skyroof working with my FT-847 with Skycat - The one thing I am having a problem with is ctcss encoding for my uplink. It worked fine a few days ago, but now when I select the ISS, there's no tone set for the uplink. I tried rigctld and that does not work at all.

Jamie, what kind of cross cable you are using?  

3 wires, crosswires pin 2 and pin 3 - right?

I have in use  an operating manual. 

There are wrote that requires  null modem cross cable, but not detaled  3 or 5 wires.
