Hi team, VE3NEA

On windows 11, SkyRoof 1.5.3, all working fine with a HackRF.

I've also some LimeSDR minis (1.0 and 2.0) which I'd like to use or test instead as they have a better ADC.

What I did:
1) Use my radioconda install to get the limesdr drivers
2) Copy LMS7Support.dll, LimeSuite.dll, libusb-1.0.dll from radioconda to  SkyRoof\lib\SoapySDR\modules0.8\
3) Launch SkyRoof and go to SDR Devices. The devices are correctly recognized (see screenshot: only one lime connected, the 2nd was connected in earlier test).

The issue:
1) There are no settings associated with the LimeSDR (see screenshot)
2) The logs show that the LimeSDR is correctly detected, as well as the parameters retrieved (see attachment, and a brief extract below):
2026-09-27 10:36:59.332Z [INF] Found SoapySDR device: 'LimeSDR Mini [USB 3] 1D58960BF1C6D0' {"KwArgs":{"driver":"lime","index":"0","label":"LimeSDR Mini [USB 3] 1D58960BF1C6D0","media":"USB 3","module":"FT601","name":"LimeSDR Mini","serial":"1D58960BF1C6D0"},"Properties":[{"Value":"LNAH","ArgInfo":{"Key":null,"Value":null,"Name":"Antenna","Description":"Antenna Input Selection","Unit":null,"Type":3,"Range":{"minimum":0.0,"maximum":0.0,"step":0.0},"Options":{"NONE":"NONE","LNAH":"LNAH","LNAL_NC":"LNAL_NC","LNAW":"LNAW","Auto":"Auto"}},"Category":"Common","Name":"Antenna"},{"Value":"true","ArgInfo":{"Key":null,

I wonder if the issue might be due to missing "Name" in a few settings:
{"Key":"SAVE_CONFIG","Value":"","Name":"","Description

Or some ranges where the min/max is all zero:
"DCOffsetMode","Description":"Automatic frontend DC offset correction","Unit":null,"Type":0,"Range":{"minimum":0.0,"maximum":0.0,"step":0.0}

Happy to hear your thoughts or test possible solutions.

Some further info, thanks to AI....

The issue is indeed linked to the empty "Name" for 3 settings: SAVE_CONFIG, LOAD_CONFIG and OVERSAMPLING, reported by LimeSDR.
Changing Settings.json manually from (for the SAVE_CONFIG case, same for LOAD_CONFIG and OVERSAMPLING):
              "Key": "SAVE_CONFIG",
              "Value": "",
              "Name": "",
              "Description": "Save LMS settings to file",
to
              "Key": "SAVE_CONFIG",
              "Value": "",
              "Name": "SAVE_CONFIG",
              "Description": "Save LMS settings to file",

Now leads to the "SDR Device Settings" being populated, see screenshot.

Claude suggests this fix in SkyRoof/SDR/SdrProperties.cs:

public string Name => string.IsNullOrEmpty(ArgInfo.Name) ? ArgInfo.Key : ArgInfo.Name;

I have tried the reception with LimeSDR and it works at least on a test with a local FM station, and a test transmission, so the data is received with this patch. I need however to tweak the gains more to get a satellite pass (my antenna setup is not ideal so this doesn't work reliably currently due to my antenna).

Great work, Daniel! I will include your suggested fix, and will see if I can include LimeSDR dll's in the installer.

Daniel,

Please see if you can drop libusb-1.0.dll v.1.0.27 and let LimeSDR use libusb-1.0.dll v.1.0.24 in the parent folder that is already present.

Hi Alex,

I've disabled the libusb which I had copied from radioconda, by renaming. SkyRoof still works with the limesdr.

This is what I have in modules0.8:

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your tests! I have released v.1.54, with lime sdr files as per your suggestion. Please give it a try, and see if it works the same way as your manual setup.

Hi Alex,

I've tested: it works perfectly well. I did erase the Settings to make sure the settings options were fetched from the driver, so the fix works.

Thanks for your efforts - it's a nice bit of software you developed!

Does this mean if using a Lime, pluto, hack, etc that the waterfall can display more then 1.8 MHz?

SkyRoof reads radio capabilities from the SoapySDR module of the given radio, and decides on the bandwidth to use. Daniel, what bandwidth can you see with LimeSDR?
