my problem is getting the SkyRoof and SkyCat to talk to each and control the IC-9700 over my Wi-Fi network. over the last week i have tried to set this up but only manage to head in to the SPIN Zone. I could sure use some guidance.

I have installed SkyRoof 1.24. Then downloaded SkyCat and unzup it into a folder.
i found the cat control, and set RX CAT and the TX CAT for the IP and Port of the IC-9700.

but when it comes to the SkyCat setup. i am having a hard time bring it all together.
i have tried reading all the info Doc's in SkyRoof, SkyCat, and Google, and you tube.
and i am overwhelmed.
Thank you.

SkyRoof does NOT talk to IC-9700 via WiFi. It talks to SkyCAT, and SkyCAT connects to the radio via a COM port. It works this way with all radios, with and without WiFi support. To set up CAT control, just follow the instructions in User' Guide:

Sorry Alex
For the problems

I have the attention span of a nat. So it takes me a little time to figure things out.
Thank you for your time.

You have to set SkyRoof to the IP and port of your running instance of SkyCat.

If that's the same computer on which you run SkyRoof, the IP will be 127.0.0.1 - but you can run SkyCat on another networked computer too.

In either case, the radio needs to be connected to the same computer that's running SkyCat, and the COM port, the NETWORK port, and other options for your radio, will be set by command line when you run SkyCat.

It doesn't run automatically from within SkyRoof (though that would be slick), you have to figure out your particulars, and start it with a command line, or a batch file or a windows shortcut.

Hopefully that helps or maybe you got it going already and you're making lots of contacts! :) Cheers.
