Hi to all!
I just discovered SkyRoof and it seems to be a good program for amateur satellite monitoring.  My issue is I can't get it to recognise my RTL v4.
I have installed the WinUSB (v6.1 7600.16385) driver using Zadig as outlined on the RTL website and installed SDR# which works perfectly.
When I open the SDR devices in SkyRoof, no devices are shown. If I plug the RTL in when the box is open after a few seconds, it briefly flashes up a Generic RTL 2382U OEM device and the SDR settings appear. The device then disappears, the settings remain but do nothing.
I found a site that suggested downloading the x64 version of the RTLsdr.dll and replacing the original version in the SkyRoof modules0.8 subfolder but this made no difference

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi,
I have resolved this problem but I am not sure why the solution works!
I read that rather than install the program to c:\Program Files, install it to a different location e.g. C:\. I uninstalled and reinstalled to the C:\SkyRoof and it worked!  The RLT-SDR V4 is now recognised and works fine. Is this something to do with Windows protection if certain folder? and if so what is the program needing to write to the drive only when accessing the SDR?  I had already uninstalled and reinstalled to C:\Programs just in case something had failed to install correctly but this did not work so it seems it is best, at least for the RTL SDR V4 not to install to the normal Windows program file directory
