Assistance with SkyRoof, HamLib, SkyCat, and FT-991a

I am having difficulty getting SkyRoof 1.2 to control my FT-991a

I have both HamLib and SkyCat 1.5 and they are able to open the COM port on the 911a.

I am also getting flashing green and red RX and TX indicators on SkyRoof. 

However the frequency on the 991a is not changing no matter what I do. 

First, is there any comprehensive documentation that covers all of the steps needed to connect everything together. It seems as if the documentation is spread around and there is no single “master document” that provides a clear over view.

The other thing is that I get the feeling that there may be settings in the 991a that I need to change in order to get the radio to properly connect to the software.

I use HamLib successfully with WSJT-X and FreeDV, so that’s working. Likewise SkyCat is able to connect to the 991a and give me an accurate report of the current settings, so it’s working. 

I get the feeling the problem is me. I’m not connecting to something.
