Hello,

I was trying to decode telemetry from the satellite PADRE (NORAD 64559). It sends a strong signal (SNR 14.5+ dB) and yet SkyRoof wasn't decoding anything. I then tried the "Discovery" button and got this:

It seems that the Discovery mode worked a lot (90% of the passage) but couldn't find out the signal details. May I ask:

1. Why did this happen?
2. Is it possible that details can never be discovered no matter how much SkyRoof tries?
3. What should I expect if the Discover feature had worked? Would it fill in the parameters in the "Signal Details" and go on with the detection from that point?

Tks, 73s. Fausto

I found the answer to 3. in the User's Guide. I should've read it first. My bad.

PADRE was discovered fine on my system, the missing piece was AX25 framing. If it did not work for you, then perhaps the signals were too weak (see my SNR below), or maybe you did not center the green rectangle on the signal - I cannot tell for sure because the text in the right panel is not visible in your screenshot.

As I wrote in my first message, PADRE sends good signals and had sent a quite strong one (14.5 dB)
shortly before I pressed the Discover button. So I guess we can rule out weak signals.

The parameters you found (GMSK/AX25G3RUH/4800) are the same as the ones I have and always
had, except that in my case there is also a deviation of 1440 Hz. I will remove this deviation next time,
to see if this fixes the problem. It's a shame that such a strong and beautiful signal can't be decoded.
