Use case - AO-7 Mode A

I am puzzling over a possible configuration to use two different radios for AO-7 Mode A (10m downlink) without an SDR. (MARMOTSAT will also have a 10m downlink). My FT847 would work fine, but we all know the IC-9700 doesn't have 10m capability. My question then is it possible to use Skyroof and skycatd to drive, say, IC-9700 and IC-7300MkII when AO-7 is in Mode A?

You can control two radios, one for RX and another for TX. Run two CAT programs, Skycatd.exe for 9700 and rotctld.exe for 7300 ( SkyCAT does not have a json file for 7300 yet). You can also use SDR for reception, then 7300 will not be needed.

It works FB!

Current configuration:

IC-9700

Yaesu FTdx5000

For the IC-9700, I run skycatd selecting IC-9700-DUAL and use default port 4532 for CAT commands.

For the FTdx5000, I run rigctld selecting model 1032 and change the TCP/IP port to 5532. I then change the port number in Skyroof settings for RX CAT. Skyroof sets both frequencies for AO-7 Mode A when selected. I was able to find my downlink easily on 10m during the most recent pass.
