Hello Gang,

Could some kind person cast an eye over the attached Log File to help me understand why I cannot get SkyCAT to communicate with my Icom 9700 please? I believe I have all the settings in the rig and Skyroof correctly set up. I keep getting a repeated "ERR" message in the SkyCAT Dialogue box. I don't seem to be able to correct the issue, even with a re-install of the software, or updating the keplers...
73 and TIA Terry, G0TMX.

Hi Terry,

To troubleshoot the problems with SkyCAT, please post your SkyCAT log here. When these options are included on the command line: -vvv -f , the contents of the SkyCAT window are written to a file, in the Logs sub-folder of the directory where SkyCAT lives.

The file that you posted is the SkyRoof log, it may also be useful, but only if the Log Traffic option is enabled in the Settings dialog, under CAT Control.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the fast response. Happy to confirm I've got the -vvv -f set up in the start argument in the SkyCAT Shortcut Properties (Could not paste a Screen Grab of that image). I hadn't enabled logging of CAT commands in settings.. that  is now enabled in the settings window. Is the attached output what you are looking for?
Thanks again.. Terry B.

Now that you included the  -vvv -f options on the command line, please post here the file that these options generate. It is not the SkyRoof log file, it is located in the SkyCAT folder.

Thank you for sending the log, now I see what the problem is. Your radio does not reply to the commands. This could happen for several reasons, e.g., the Baud rate specified on the command line is different from the rate set in the transceiver's menu, or the port number is incorrect. Once you fix the connection, CAT control will work.

Doh! Such a school boy error for me to make! That sorted it, Alex.. thank you! I have a number of Virtual Ports, and I mistakenly thought the default Com 9 would work. After a little backward engineering from other control applications,  SkyCAT works for Rx. Next, to look at the Uplink for Tx... thank you again. Best wishes for a Peaceful Christmas to you and yours.
