Hi All,
Felix Leder has kindly written the following python script for accessing Skyrails from external systems. It is attached.
Also, this is based on a protocol which I hacked up quickly.. and it's pretty simple to implement to. Here's an excerpt from an email I sent to a fellow researcher:
http://pastebin.com/f138c8e5cLastly.. attached is a .van script with function calls for specifying nodes over the network.
To get that .van script working, just put it in your scripts folder, and add the following two lines to prelude (just search for the word "labs" and you'll know where to put it:)
menulink " p2p " (loadfile "scripts/p2pnetwork.van"; menuhide projectsmenu);
menutooltip "Network Simulation Frontend";
menutooltip "This only works when there's a system to connect to.";
I'd love to write more, but it's 2:30 AM and I'm probably going to spend the next few days figuring out why my freshly installed ubuntu server, with citadel suite freshly installed can't seem to send a mail. Is this because I have to set some kind of MX records, or set up the SMTP server? It says it's supposed to be automatic.
Anyways, that last paragraph is a bit off-topic, but if anyone knows, please let me know.
Also, let me know if there's any features you want from this "live-network-visualization" thing. I think a documentation geared towards this is much more useful than a general documentation. But I'll have to do this after this mail server setup thing..
Cheers
