Mark Shuttleworth - Founder of Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu
recently announced the next development cycle and brief plans for
Ubuntu 10.10. It will be released in October, 2010.

As per the Ubuntu tradition of having an animal mascot for each
release version, 10.10 will have "Maverick Meercat" as mascot.

Just missed to let you know that Ubuntu 10.04 LTS(Long Term Support)
is due to be released this month.

Grab the 1st beta from http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/lucid/beta1 for
testing.
If you can wait for few more days then 2nd beta is due on 8th April.
