1 - Skyline Football welcomes Lee Arthur as our new Varsity Head Coach! Coach Arthur played high school football at Saginaw High School, and college ball at Saginaw Valley State University. After graduating from SVSU, he returned to Saginaw High School to coach. In 2006, he began working in the Ann Arbor Public Schools, coaching track, basketball and football at Huron. In 2011, Coach Arthur joined the Skyline Football program, where he served as the Varsity team’s Offensive Coordinator last fall, implementing a scheme that put up some BIG numbers in terms of yardage and points. He also coached the Skyline freshmen boys’ basketball team this year. Coach Arthur has a great ability to connect with kids, helping them to improve as players and to mature as young men. We’re excited that he will be at Skyline to continue moving the program forward. Over the next few weeks, Coach Arthur will line up the rest of the coaching staff and set the calendar of spring and summer activities. Stay tuned for more information on that!
2 – Please join us on Thursday, March 22 at 6:00 in the Skyline Commons for some refreshments and a chance to hear a few remarks from Coach Arthur. We also will have a discussion about fundraising activities for the upcoming season. All are welcome!
3 – Coach Arthur will continue to have weightlifting after school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. He looks forward to seeing all boys not playing a spring sport!
4 – Anyone interested in purchasing tickets for the March 23rd SABC Gala – a fun evening to raise money for Skyline Athletic programs – please let me know. This is an adults-only evening, and tickets are $50 per person.
5 – Last month, we elected the board members for the Skyline Football Parents Club. They are:
