I had an interesting thing happen yesterday. Was helping one of our
students who had brought her PC laptop into my office to get help
constructing her survey. When we got to the part about creating a
respondent pool on her computer, the system would allow us to create
the pool, but would not allow us to select a delivery mode. The drop
down field was inactive and we could not get a drop down list of
choices. She then shared the survey with me as an owner, we accessed
my account & her survey on my computer and then we could set the
delivery mode for her respondent pool. We then opened her account on
my computer, but the respondent pool options were not available to
her. Any ideas, please?

Hi Sue
It is likely sharing permissions.  She probably does not have the correct rights to be able to edit respondent pools.
Check her permissions, Is she the "owner" of the survey?

Hi Peg,

Thanks for your reply. We confirmed that the author has the permission
level of owner. Is there another setting we should be checking re
permissions?

Hi Sue
Send me the survey exact title and the last name only of the user and I will double check the logs against any errors.  You may have hit a new bug that is browser version related.
We will need to diagnose this further.

Hi Sue
Here is a thought from one of my teammates.

Once you create a respondent pool, you cannot select and change the
delivery type. You have to create a new pool.

Could that have been the problem?

Thanks for your reply, Peg. Her is the info you requested:
Survey Title: International Management Division’s Management Involvement Committee (IMD’s MIC)
Last name: Chen

We tried it in both IE and Firefox on her PC. Same results...URL tab not available in the respondent pool.

Standing by...

Hi Sue
This is a different system than you originally reported.

The orignal pst said...
"would not allow us to select a delivery mode"
This post says
"URL tab not available in the respondent pool"

Can you clarify which of the above.

In the meantime I will take a look at the survey.

Sorry should say symptom below, not system.

So far I cannot replicate either problem.

Hi Sue
I am stumped.
I replicated the exact system and browsers and neither problem shows up for me.

Peg, sorry for the confusion. My memory did not serve me well. It is the first one--would not allow us to select a delivery mode.

Chen shared the survey with me and I was able to select a delivery mode. We then got a URL and respondents were able to access and respond to the survey. Chen's instructor was also able to access a delivery mode on this computer, too, when he looked at her servey. The problem may be with Chen's computer. She came from China (and maybe the computer did too). Maybe it has something to do with a setting on her computer.

Does any of this info help.

Sue

Hi Sue
Yes this helps.  One final test to do is have Chen access the survey on your computer and it it works under her account login, not yours, on your computer then it definitely points to her computer.

Peg,

When Chen logs into her Flashlight account on my computer, she still can not access the delivery mode options.
