emailing respondents

I need help uploading respondent email addresses. I have "created the
pool," and I can view the survey link under metadata. But, I'm not
seeing where/how to type in respondent email addresses. I've gotten
this far in the instructions: "get a preview URL for viewing how
respondents will experience the survey and get a respondent URL used
for taking the survey," [So far so good] "and input email addresses
for respondents." It's the last part that's getting me: "input email
addresses for respondents." Where does that happen? Thanks for your

Hi Sheri

There are two options for loading respondent email

1. After you create the respondent pool with delivery type email personal URL and save it for the first time, then click the pool name again and you will see on the top right of the screen a tab labeled "respondents".  It is directly to the right of the pool title.  Click the respondents tab and then click the "add" button which will pop up a text box where you can paste in email address, one per line.  Be sure there are no leading or trailing blanks.  Click OK to load the address and then when back on the main screen click "save" in the lower left.  If you miss this last save it will not have the addresses.

2. You can load respondent emails using the respondent pool export and import process.  This is described at the kb page

Once you have the emails loaded into the respondent pool you can se the messaging feature of SKylight to send the email to respondents.  See this page

Hi, I'm still stuck.
I'm still not seeing where I can add email addresses. I chose "single public URL" for my respondents list. Is that why I'm not seeing a place to put the email addresses? Should I just email the URL to my participants from my own email address? Thanks.

Hi Sheri

To use Skylight to do email you must choose delivery type "email personal URL".  If you choose single public URL, then you cannot email from within Skylight and you would have to use your own email client such as Outlook to email the same URL to all respondents.

One you choose a delivery type you cannot change it unless you make a new respondent pool.

Ok, thanks. Since I already chose the "single public URL," and don't want to redo it, I think I'll just email the link to the participants. It's a very small group, so it should be no trouble.
