Hi everyone,

Mary suggested I post an alternative solution to the strange Ctrl+C shutdown that happens randomly in Sky 8 (other than using the mouse which can slow you down).

You can actually create your own keyboard shortcut for ‘copy’ in Sky. The instructions to do this start on the bottom of page 280 of the manual. You’ll want to make sure that the new shortcut you create is not already in use. But you can remove an already existing shortcut and replace it with the copy command. After that, it’s just a matter of training yourself to use the new command. It might be a bit awkward for a while because Ctrl+C is copy in most other programs (though I believe you can change it in most programs as well), but if the shutting down is become a huge issue for you, then this could be a good alternative.

I have not actually done this because for me it doesn't happen so often that it is a huge issue (of course I say that now). So, if anyone actually does try it, please let us know if the issue with shutting down is resolved this way.

Thanks so much!

Thanks to everyone who replied to this thread and to my original question about copying text from the main heading into the page field.

I was going to try this suggestion, Anthony, but it seemed that all or most of the keys are already in use for shortcuts and I didn't want to delete existing ones. I tested Mary's suggestion of using the mouse to copy text, and I think that that is going to be the best solution. Now to train myself to use the mouse.
