Hi everyone,

So is there any resolution in the "copying makes Sky crash" issue? It's
really becoming a problem with my current index and I need to do a lot
of copying because of diacritics. I've tried renaming, which has worked
for crashing issues in the past. Not working this time.

Thanks

Siusan

Funny, that just happened again to me today, too.

These were the conditions under which it happened:
1. The Find box was open
2. I had accidentally typed locators in the main heading field in the Grid. When I did Ctrl C to remove the locators, SKY crashed.

Were either of those conditions in place for you too?

All the best,

Mary

There is no resolution for this as far as I know. Try rebooting your computer. If that doesn't work, maybe try giving the program a rest (if you have the time). Otherwise, you can try recording your screen (like with your phone or the snippet tool) to try and catch it in the act, as it were. Then you'd have something to send to the Sky Help email (which is usually just Kamm). I'm not sure how many (if any) people have given this particular complaint to Sky, but it sure would be good to have some evidence. Just explaining it to them is tough because it is so random and they can't exactly recreate the actions required to do it.

Sorry Siusan, I meant to send this to everyone, so you're getting it twice lol. But if anyone finds this is happening over and over again, try to record it somehow so we can have proof.

Hi, Tony.

Unfortunately, it happens in the blink of an eye. Hit Ctrl C and *poof!* the program shuts down. The best we can do is try to remember any odd user-end maneuver and note the conditions that were in place when it happened.

Unless we try to replicate it, which maybe I'll try when I'm out from under my current project.

All the best,

Mary

It's so random! I have a diacritics-heavy manuscript right now (Vietnamese names), and I'm constantly pasting in individual characters (why can I paste in diacritic characters but not words containing those same characters??) and bite my tongue, things have been fine. I;ve also been using this site a lot for diacritics, which may be a way around the issue?

Thank you,
