Hi all.
Way back in the old days, Michael Wyatt provided this great setup for OUp indexes. But I'm curious about the last line. I think as set up, this will always produce C1. How do I tell SKY I'm on the next chapter? Is that what he means by the Volume Number feature? (I've just been filtering each chapter as I go, and changing the C#, but there surely must be a way to get SKY to do this itself, yes?)

Michael's instructions:
In the Volumes/Chapter/Sections options dialogue, choose Sections (not Volumes), then the "1" tab. (You'll see it's still called Volume, this dialogue just has more options.)

Input Delimiter: . [period]
Output Delimiter: .P [period followed by capital P]
New Section Separator: , [comma followed by a space]
Prefix: C
Suffix: [blank]
And make sure that the Enabled checkbox has a tick in it.

In the Page column type 1.34-36. The Index Pane will show C1.P34-C1.P36. Also, you'll notice that two-digit chapter numbers will sort correctly, i.e. C10 after C9. Plus you can save time by exploiting the Add Volume Number feature.

Thank you,

Hi Rudy,

I use Michael's setup for OUP indexes, thanks to your post about it!

For the various chapters, just enter the chapter number, then period, then paragraph number in the locator field in SKY.
i.e.
3.1 => C3.P1
5.2 => C5.P2

If you don't want the periods in the final locator, use plain "P" for the Output Limiter, with no period before it.

Input Delimiter: . [period]
Output Delimiter: P [capital P]

3.1 => C3P1
5.2 => C5P2
