I'm working on a big index of sources (Bible, Qur'an, Rabbinic Writings). I set up translations so that books and sections would sort in a given order, not alphabetically.

As I'm working, I'm finding that some translations are conflicting with items. For example (the most recent), the standard translation for the Book of Isaiah is Isa, and this is what I had, and what the author uses. But then when I enter the name Isaac in Rabbinic Writings, it turns into Iasiahac. So I changed Isa to Isa) and have to now remember to add the parenthesis when I copy or type that abbreviation (or group them at the end of a session and add it).

Every time I find such a problem -- there have been several -- I change the Translation Manager right away and Print (save as Word, which I then save as PDF). I keep this PDF open, along with others regarding the order and placement of works, as I'm inputting.

Is there a way to just over-ride the translation so that it won't translate such things? Part of the problem is foreseeing when there's going to be a conflict. I only see the problem when it occurs.

Merci schön.
