Fellow SKYwriters,

I use my desktop for indexing 98% of the time, but this week, I must be out of town and will use my laptop. I've been trying to merge two short test indexes, but it says one(?) is empty. Should I back up my desktop-created index and open it as a repaired file on my laptop? (I have SKY there too.) Or how can I transfer it between devices? I will want it on my desktop again when I get home to edit it before submitting. I asked Kamm/support once but can't find his response and the user guide doesn't seem to say.

Thanks for any suggestions,

Great to hear Heather.
While some people use cloud services to share SKY files from one machine to another, for some reason I think Kamm said that may be a problem. What I've always done is to email the file to myself and open that email on the other machine.
Those files don't open on the other machine -- I have to download it, then open SKY and use it to open the file.
Not sure about your merging issue but sounds like you got that one solved.
Deborah
