I'm using Sky 8, but I'd like an answer for both version 7 and 8 if possible. This is less for my own current work than for a webinar I'm preparing.
When we use special characters, we have to tell Sky how to sort them.
Options > Index > Index Style > Define Alphabet Groups
For example, under h there is also
hĥħḥ [this last character I added] so that these will all sort under h.
Is there a way to tell Sky to sort special characters in a certain order, or as two letters?
Can I tell Sky to sort
þ (thorn) as th rather than as t? (I've thought of adding a hidden h after every thorn, but was hoping there might be another way.) What about ligatures? Can I tell Sky to sort
æ as ae? Add a hidden e?
What about if you need special characters sorted in a certain way? For example, say your text contains variations on "a" --
âä
åã -- and you want them to sort in that order, so that words beginning with a are all together, then
â, then
ä, etc. And cat, cât, cät, cåt, cãt would sort in that order. Is there a way to do it?
Thanks!
