Hello,

Is there a setting in Sky 8 that allows you to set italics in a page ref, such as 364f ?
I'm sure this could be accomplished with search and replace, but I'm always looking to avoid an extra step.
Thanks for any wisdom,
Nan

Well there is if that suffix were a note (Options>Index>Locators and then any of those you can italicize and it will italicize all the n's indicating notes.
So I explored some more and learned something so thanks for asking!
What I've done up to now is to put my f or t at the end of a page number in plain type. When I've completed the index, I
Find
f in the page field
but not including any page field with 'xref'
Then I change what I've found to italics
But now I believe I will label any record that needs a f and another label for t.
At the end I'll
View>Filtered
select the label I marked for the f records and click ok
then select all
then Tools>Add Suffix to Select Records
and type an italicized f in the box and click ok
It works instantly!
It will also be strange and uncomfortable for me to have those records just labeled and without their figure or table suffix, but I can get used to that.

Nan,

Sorry to chime in late, but another way of handling this is with a macro. Here's the coding for a macro that inserts an f in italics after the page locator and then moves to the next line:
%{f12}f+{left}^i~

You'd need to click on the Macro Manager and then copy/paste that coding into the dialog, along with a hint to remind you of what that macro does (e.g., "f suffix").  Thereafter, all you'd need to do is enter the page number and hit the shortcut, which will be Alt+Shift+ [whatever letter you've assigned it to].
