Sky 7
Two weeks ago, I started a preliminary index of a few pages of my next project.
Yesterday, when I returned to that file, the .sk7 file title and its date showed up in the folder I created. However there was nothing in the grid anywhere. It's as if I had created the file, but put nothing in it at all.
Most of the time, when I create a new file, the first three or four entries disappear right before my eyes, and I have to keep starting over before any entry will actually register in place. It's annoying, but I'm used to that.
More annoying still is that in Windows 10, I always lose text from a single cell if I move out of that cell in any way other than by hitting Enter. (I wrote in about this earlier and thought that it was resolved but it is not.) However, I have never had the entire contents of a file disappear.
I believe Kamm when he says that Sky files do not disappear on their own. I searched everywhere in the computer in various ways--sk7 file extension, file date, unique words from the text entered in the index file, auto-complete for some of those words, and file retrieval via Carbonite-- but no trace of anything. There is no doubt that I entered several lines to this new index, yet I am drawing a blank, literally.
Can anyone else suggest any other kind of search or anything else, and if not, how such a loss could occur?
Thanks,
Jim Fuhr
