having two or three indexes open at once

I'm sure I did this in the past when I was creating multiple indexes, but Sky 8 isn't doing it now.

For speed, I want to enter biblical and quranic references into the subject index, and then after a chunk has been done copy them into separate indexes (which will be differently formatted). But when I have the subject (or any) index open and click on Open an Existing File, Sky closes the one I'm currently in. 

How can I have two or three open at one time? I'm working on two screens (laptop and one external screen).

I’m not at my computer so hopefully I will describe this correctly….

If you have the SKY icon on your desktop or inyour main menu, right click on the icon and choose open SKY (or the equivalent) when you already have one index open. On the new screen you can open the second index. Repeat for a third one :)

 If I’m updating an index, I usually have two once.

Thanks, Kendra and Michelle, that’s what I was doing wrong. Audrey, I think I’ve read that Sky files should be opened within the program, not by double-clicking the file name. I know that’s true for renaming files.

SKY opens one index at a time. To have two open at the same time, you need to open two sessions of SKY. Or three if you need to have three open. SKY worries about which machine it's running on and who the licensed user is, but then you can repeatedly open it to work with more than one index at a time.
