Eighty-year-old Helen Collins is quite the lady, as we’re finding out today. Audio recordings between Collins and air traffic control walk through the terrifying moments following her husband, the pilot of the small passenger plane, suffering a heart attack while at the controls.
 
John and Helen were six miles from the airport, thousands of feet in the air with the gas tank almost emptied, when John slumped over the controls, managing to remove his seat belt and get himself to the floor. John passed away from the attack, and in the blink of an eye Helen was forced to get behind the controls and call air traffic control; she had never piloted a plane.
