@Skramit: yeah for the weekdays it will average out to that between both of us, I put it on for background noise while I am browsing on laptop / cooking / doing dishes. On our days off it will be quite a lot higher as we don't stay out long.

@Skramit: why should I? I have unlimited data. I am just saying that its easy for 2 people to watch collectively 3 hours of netflix p/d averaged over a week. Besides, people come back to their homes to relax, not to place restrictions on themselves. If OP is willing to do that then good for him and he can go on the cheaper plan.

Been wondering the same thing myself for s holiday house. With 12/1 plans now hard to come by I was looking for the cheapest options out there. I considered this 12/1 250 GB plan but was concerned about going over. To be honest we are only there about 6-8 days a month but the kids watch a lot of Netflix plus i stream apple TV a bit also and will be doing 4k when we upgrade the TV there at some point. So figured an unlimited 50/20 plan via exetel was the better option.

For internet at my holiday house, I have an unlocked Huawei 4G modem (bought second hand, with an external antenna) that lives there, and I just go to any Woolworths or Coles supermarket and buy whatever SIM card is currently on sale for half price as and when I need it.

Yeah true but it was fine for what i needed given it was a holiday house. I was more about price than speed there. Its a shame that NBN is making it hard to find plans that are still reasonably priced for casual users. IM currently waiting on a breakdown of my usage from Tangerine Telecom to see how much data i used each month for the last 6 months so i can get an idea of what i need.

Yeah sorry meant 4G. Cant seem to edit the post now. My only issue with 4k is reliability. My wife has Optus and reception isnt great at the house. So have concerns about how reliable the connection will be.

Interesting. So is Belong the Cheapest 50/20 unlimited on the market? I was looking at Exetel 50/20 500 gb for 54.99 but if Belong is $55 for the same i might go with them. Only $5 more than what im paying now.

It is not enough. Data is one thing that you cannot control.
Even when the devices are off, they are consuming something.
I work with technology and you have no idea the sh1t behind everything.
I would not take the risk

For Netflix, use the Kodi Netflix addon(needs updating) or the phone version of the app.
