IFDS World Championships 2015 - SKUD18 Charters

Hi All, 

As Secretary of the Australian Hansa Class Association, I am aiming to coordinate the charter of SKUD18's for the IFDS World Championship in Melbourne from November 26th - December 3rd, 2015.

We are looking to emulate or better the number of boats on the start line from the recently completed event in Halifax and, as such, would like to get some feedback from the SKUD18 sailors about their plans for the 2015 Championships. The IFDS World Championship will be followed the next week by the ISAF Sailing World Cup - Sail Melbourne regatta, so SKUD18 sailors can look forward to two world-class regattas back-to-back.

Could you please let me know whether you are planning on entering the 2015 IFDS World Championships? Will you be bringing your own boat(s) or need to charter one? Do you have a MKII available that could be chartered to another team?

We expect that the number of charter boats that will be available will be limited, so your earliest replies would be appreciated.

We look forward to welcoming you to Melbourne in 2015!

Hi Shauna

From NZ you can expect 4 - 6 entries.  We might have 1 or 2 MK 1’s avalable for charter but they would need to be shipped to Australia which might make the charter a bit expensive unless you can get some sponsorship for shipping.  Sorry we will not have any MK 2’s for charter.

Just a reminder to all the SKUD Sailors out there we have 5 - 6 SKUD’s based in Auckland so if you ever want to come and do some training in NZ or come to Sail Auckland 25 February - 1 March 2015 get in touch.  We will make it easy for you and there will be little or no charter fee on our 3 - 4 MK 1 boats.
