Hi all

There are a few requests for Skud charters circulating round (Israel, New Zealand, Russia)

As far as I know there are no Mark 2 boats available for charter in North America (Scott Whitman's maybe?). We are looking into options for transporting our Mark 1 via CN (Canadian National Railways) but nothing is confirmed.

The US teams have ordered new Mark 2 boats and there are also two new Skuds ordered (same delivery I believe) for the Clearwater Centre. These might be an option? I don't know delivery dates but someone else might?

It's in everyone's interests (sailors, class, our sport) that as many boats as possible sail at Halifax. What other possibilities can we think of? Could Hansa send some boats for charter (& then potential sale)? Could European teams with spare boats (GBR, NED) ship boats over? Can anyone shipping from Asia/Aus combine containers?

I'm going to copy this to the event organisers, Hansa & IFDS. Lets get boats on the line!

My SKUD Mk1 could be made available for charter.  Are there any thoughts from the group about creating a division in the class so teams can compete and get scored in Mk1 or 2, depending on which boat/rig they're sailing?  This would level the playing field and encourage developing teams to join the circuit and perhaps encourage general participation with more boats/options available.

Hi Rick, that is great to have your Skud available for charter in Halifax.  Please email me at paul.t...@gmail.com, so I can put you in touch with the sailors to charter your boat.

As of now, there are no plans to divide the Skud into two classes.  But I still think your boat will be needed, as a Mk 1 boat competing is better than no boat competing at all!

I am driving through Whitby, ON on Thursday if you are around and maybe we could meet for a cup of Joe.

Anyone else with any ideas on chartering Skud's, Please let me know

Hi Paul,  Thanks for the reply.  So far I've been contacted by the Russians about chartering my boat.  I will Email you my coordinates so we can coordinate our efforts and I look forward to meeting for a coffee when you're passing through next week.
