We've been preparing for a redesign of the Finto service for a while now. Today, April 1st, we're releasing the first glimpse of the future Finto: the new Super Finto offers an unprecedented user experience for exploring the General Finnish Ontology and the relationships between concepts.

Super Finto gives you the opportunity to play with ideas and concepts: visualized concepts in the ontology help you understand complex concept relationships, taking ontology browsing to a whole new level. Super Finto teaches you how to choose the right terms, avoiding outdated terms and those that are just...unpleasant. Persistent identifiers are always at your fingertips – their use improves information retrieval and facilitates the definition of concepts and the maintenance of their links. Super Finto is also multilingual: the user interface is available in four equal languages (Finnish, Swedish, English, and Northern Sami).
