ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines is canceling flights to the Caribbean after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) closed airspace following a major U.S. military operation in Venezuela.
Early Saturday morning, aircraft flew over Venezuela’s capital, Caracas, striking multiple targets. The U.S. military also captured President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, who are facing narco-terrorism conspiracy charges in New York.

In light of the airspace closure, Delta has issued a travel waiver for those who were booked to fly in or out of 13 airports between Jan. 3-6.

According to FlightAware, at least 55 Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport flights to or from the Caribbean have been canceled across all airlines on Saturday.
