The links at the bottom of this note provide access to the August 2017 CCPS Process Safety Beacon. All August Beacon translations are listed, either with a link or as "not available". If the language you want is not available, an email will be sent to you when the translation becomes available, if you are on the distribution list for that language. Also note that several Beacons from 2002 - 2004 which were not previously available in German have been translated by our German translation team. These are included in the links at the bottom of this email.

This book describes how to conduct Process Hazard Assessments (PHAs) for processes handling combustible solids. The book explains how to do a dust hazard assessment by using either an approach based on compliance with existing consensus standards, or by using a risk based approach. Worked examples in the book help the user understand how to do a combustible dust hazards assessment.

62nd Annual Safety in Ammonia Plants and Related Facilities Symposium

2017 European Conference on Process Safety and Big Data
The 2017 European Conference on Process Safety and Big Data, jointly organized by CCPS and the European Process Safety Center [EPSC] will be November 14-15, 2017 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The call for abstracts deadline has been extended to August 17, 2017 at the conference web site. Registration is also now open for the conference.
14th Global Congress on Process Safety
The 14th Global Congress on Process Safety will be April 22-25, 2018 in Orlando, Florida. The Call for Abstracts is now open, and the deadline for abstract submittal is October 13, 2017. Visit the Global Congress web site for more information.

Process Safety Beacon Archive
The CCPS Process Safety Beacon archive has been updated to include all Beacons up to July 2017. Free access to the archive is restricted to "read only" versions of the Beacon. To access the printable version, we request that a company make a contribution equal to one year's dues to CCPS/AIChE's SACHE (Safety and Chemical Engineering Education) program. Your donation will help promote inclusion of process safety in undergraduate chemical engineering programs. In addition to access to the Process Safety Beacon archive, you will receive access to a year of SACHE curriculum materials.
