TheNoNpDrm plugin allows you to install official PS Vita files along with any updates or patches. For this guide, we will install NoNpDrm files on our hacked PS Vita. You must have NoNpDrm installed (steps 1-3) before you can use NoPayStation or PKGj.

Note:

This guide refers to the Tai folder in the ur0 directory, this is because I moved my tai folder to ur0. If your tai folder is in ux0, considered moving it to ur0:tai, change the config.txt to refer to ur0, and delete the tai folder in ux0. Otherwise, replace all instances of ur0:tai with ux0:tai.

Note:

1. Every time you add or change anything in your config.txt file you need to restart the Vita for those changes to occur.

2. If you are using the official PlayStation Vita memory you need to change your USB device to memory card. See pic below. (Thanks to Jazzman for pointing this out)

You also have to hit triangle in Vitashell to refresh the home page so the game will appear. That is the last step though, it will only work after you installed nonpdrm and set up the config.txt file in your tai folder.

What issue is it causing you? Can you still load Henkaku? If you are on 3.60, reinstall Henkaku by going to on your Vita broswer. More information can be found at my guide here: -enso-on-firmware-3-60/

I downloaded a online pass it contains license folder so i copied the files in thier to the license folder in ux0 (sd2vita). But the game still says i need online pass. The game is PlayStation all stars pcsa00069

Are you on 3.60, if so try to reinstall henkaku which is Step 1 here: -enso-on-firmware-3-60/. Otherwise, to get back Vitashell go here: Once you have Vitashell you should be able to go into the ur0:tai and fix/add whatever was deleted.

I have tried many methods and viewed many youtube tutorials on running nonpdrm games, all of it the methods failed until I found this site. Initially I was on 3.68 Henkaku but then downgrade it again 3.65 Henkaku. Never used Enso until today. After got everthing installed and running. I rebooted the Vita with Enso running, refreshed the Live Arena and there it is. Satisfied with the process and thanks to you that I found answers to my doubts.

It is best to have it in ur0:tai but having it in ux0: Tai will also work. It takes a little more effort to move everything In ux0:tai to ur0:tai, change the text in config.txt to ur0:tai, and then delete the uxo:tai folder but it is better.

You have to drag the files in your game folder such as app, addcont, etc. Over to the ux0 folder. So that the app folder in your game folder will now be in ux0:app and the same for all the other folders.

Not everything from Nicoblog is a nonpdrm file nor will it have everything associated with the game like an update or dlc. It is best to use Nopaystation or pkgj for the files you need, those program usually contain the dlcs as well. See my guide on how to install them.

yes my micro sd is fine. i just cannot install the dlcs even after they are downloaded even when using pkgj. games r working fine. i dont have the addcont folder anywhere on vitashell. i think thats the problem but i have no idea how to fix it.

Hmmm, do you have nopaystation installed? It is the same database as pkgi, but you can get the DLC (addcont folder) on your pc and then transfer that to your ux0. Just make sure the gameid matches, meaning the game must be from the same region.

Are you trying to transfer a nonpdrm file? The file referenced in my pic is for a specific game, you should have a similar file with different numbers. Step 6 is showing you to transfer the files in the nodpdrm folder to the same folders on your memory card (ux0).

You can still complete the steps through FTP instead of USB, it just takes a little longer. Have you tried a different USB cable, otherwise I would install QCMA that will install a driver on your PC to recognized the Vita. IF you need help installing QCMA, look at my guide steps 1, 3, and 4.

Thanks for letting me know, I will have to double check everything and make sure it is correctly labeled. Unfortunately, for those type of errors the normal spellcheck is not going to catch it. All the tutorials and pictures are from me doing these hacks but apparently there are still some errors that slip through the cracks. Which is why I am grateful for comments like yours that bring it to my attention!

Hey friend! I hope this gets to to you. Im using a original memory card and have a tai folder in ur0 and ux0. The ur0 has the adrenaline psp emu and the ux0 the vita games itself. I downloaded some games and they have a work.bin in package that im assuming is the license. But when I refresh it says 0 items, im also have the nodprm.thing in both config text of ur0 and ux0. In what did I went wrong?

Thanks again! Did you write about hacking the Xbox? I picked this name because I want custom firmware (CFW) on all consoles and I plan on creating other hacking tutorials for the PS4 and maybe the Switch.

hey dude i have a problem im using sd2vita. well i have copy my games from my old ps memory card and it works. the problem is everytime im transferring new game (nonpdrm) the files are keep deleting i mean when i open the folder of the app its empty thats why i think i always get 0 refreshed

The first problem does sounds like a memory card issue but it could also be a cluster problem. When you format the microsd card did you set the cluster size to 64kb? The Vitashell is saved to whatever memory card is being used, so if you have the slim vita just remove all your memory cards then install Vitashell. This will saved it to the internal memory.

If your tai folder is not in the UX0 then has to be in the UR0, I assume you are SD2vita/micro SD card as your memory card? The nonpdrm.skprx is just one file, it seems like you are copying over the wrong files.

The site is very detailed, organized, and easy to follow. I am a noob and managed to proceed from h-encore to NoNpDrm to Pkgi as my hope was to get some experience prior to Pkgj. Pkgj has been a challenge. if you can make a guide, that would be great.

The 14 September 2014, a leak of more than 50 ePSP exploits was released online by Acid_Snake and qwikrazor87. This split the community into two sides : those who think that hackers will finally try to find a native hack of the PSVita, and those who are totally unmotivated to continue after this and decide to drop the PSVita hacking community

2015 begins with a good news : a WebKit exploit has been found on 3.18 by Hykem which is the first native exploit found on the PSVita.

This exploit allows dumping a list of modules and the support of URi calls which for example allows users to boot the package manager app.

The other good news is the custom bubble method found by Mr.Gas and frtomtomdu80 (later known as Major_Tom). This method allows the user to create ePSP bubble on the live area so that we can boot vHBL directly from the livearea. It was very cool to have your own bubble but it was just an illusion of hack. Later in June 2016 a PS1 bubble method will be released. It was still an ePSP hack and the native hack hope faded away.

We lost hope for a native PSVita hack, but Yifanlu, with the help of xyz, Davee and Proxima, came out of nowhere and brought us Rejuvenate, the first native hack for the PSVita for 3.51 !

The exploit was found inside the PlayStation Mobile Development Assistant and allowed users to launch homebrew from it thanks to UVloader. And by homebrew, I mean native homebrew built with a Vita toolchain.

This contest did bring some awesome homebrews (like our lord and savior Vitashell by the new promising dev TheFloW) but because of the awkward situation where everyone does his own stuff without any consensus. We had two homebrew loaders and 2 different SDKs instead of focusing on the Open SDK. This has discouraged a lot of devs to participate, including YifanLu who will decide to drop the PSVita scene completely.

Now that YifanLu is gone, the only dedicated hackers remaining on the scene were Major_Tom and Mr.Gas, and they brought up for the 3.52 firmware another exploit called the Mail trick. This exploit allows writing anywhere on the memorycard and then later, anywhere on the system. This exploit enabled customization on the PSVita with custom bubbles, Package installer bubble, no more PSTV blacklist, changing the region of the PSVita and most importantly the use of custom themes for the PSVita ! All you had to do is send an email and open it with the PSVita.

With the release of the Black Fin dongle, we begin to see dump of games on the internet like the Uncharted cartridge backup by PiCO. While the BlackFin resurfaces later after radio silence from the Cobra Team on a japanese market website.

A King Of The Hill contest was created by the molecule team in order to attract the attention of hackers toward the PSVita by challenging them to find how HENkaku worked and reverse engineer it. The code was obfuscated a little in order to provide a fun challenge.

Mike H and st4rk both managed to complete it and solved the ROP chain. Team molecule then released the source code of Henkaku as well as an explanation post of how the exploit worked.

Another contest was created by the four main hacking forums that is Wololo, PSX Place, PlaystationHax.it and Custom Protocol. It was named GekiHEN and helped a lot in attracting developers and shining a light on the Vita. Thanks to it we had many cool submissions that we even use today like the vita homebrew browser, custom themes manager and pfba. The contest was a success although the results were shadowed by Project Void which won the game category while being built with the official Sony SDK and not Vita SDK.

The dumping process was simple, load the game files in the ram and let the vita decrypt it. It was a dirty method of dumping game and did introduce several problems like save data corruption.

The two programs with the same goal in mind had many advantages and disadvantages.

Oh yeah and at the time there was no vitashell USB support so transferring a vpk was either through ftp, or through QCMA. You rename the .vpk into .mp3, and transfer it as music with QCMA to your PSVita. Then go to ux0:music and rename the .mp3 to .vpk and install.

The advantage of using a decrypted game came down to using plugins. Dumped games allow loading plugins from ux0:plugins. The main use was the amphetamine plugin which allows you to select the CPU and GPU clock speed while playing a game and also the RinCheat plugin.
