Sweet!

I've been using SkeinFox as part of my workflow while developing the
Twitterbot tool for Skeinforge. It optionally inserts Rick Pollack's
Twitter M-codes into a file as it's being skeined. Then when you print
using a patched version of RepG, your bot tweets its progress!

It's almost ready and I will post a patch when it is.

Oooops, the zip file seems to be corrupted:

After cloning it from github, it unzips. Downloading via Firefox
didn't. Go figger.

strange, what was your checksum? The sha1 should be:

I guess github is kind of suboptimal for this type of raw download.
I've also posted it on the google groups page, but you can't link
directly to it, so i will just direct you to the main skeinfox group
page, it's at the bottom:
http://groups.google.com/group/skeinfox

Definitely something wrong:

$ openssl sha1 SkeinFox_v1.02.zip
SHA1(SkeinFox_v1.02.zip)= 29958918e82c420daa1f3a7414fe1647f1ea6f42

Yep, FAIL on github for this one.

Heya,

How do you want bug reports submitted? I have a simple STL file from
SketchUp that SkeinFox will process just fine, but if I load/export it
from Blender, SkeinFox never generates anything. (I'm trying to
figure out how to get Blender to export STL that SkeinFox/skeinforge
will actually process.)

thx,

this list is perfect for these questions in case others have similar
experiences... could you do a screen recording to demonstrate? you
right click the object in blender and then export stl? that should
work (it does for me)...

does your exported stl show the correct model if you import into a new
blender instance?

Hrm, I don't get "export" as an option under right click, so maybe
there's the first problem. I get
"Add/Edit/Select/Transform/Object/View/Render" and don't see anything
about exporting under any of those menus.

The way I generate STL is to delete everything except the object and use
File->Export->STL.

Yup.

yes, sorry--- you have to just right click the object and release to
select it (it will have pink/magenta outline). If you don't have a
mouse then do command-click. Command-click definitely works (don't
have a mouse around to verify right-click works...) Then you go into
the menus and export as stl...

if an object is not selected when you export then I think STL file
will be empty, which might be causing the problem...

Ok, that appears to do the same thing as I was doing before. Looking at
the console, there's an assertion failure in the scripts. Will send you
the STL in a moment.

thanks for the help -- I'm really used to SolidWorks and learning
Blender is a bit of a challenge as a result.

ah... your geometry is waaaay too complex. just make a new cylinder
directly in blender, with 32 vertices only. then you'll be good to go.
attached...
