I don't expect the online play to improve but since they really made this sorta distinguishable (hence "Steam Edition), it's possible that SNK might have improve. I don't really care too much since I play '98 and 2002 on GGPO anyways.
God fucking dammit, I literally bought this yesterday for the 360, wish I waited to get it on Steam. Anyhow, great game, now if the PC port of Injustice would hurry up and come along that would be just dandy.
Well, shit. The PC seems to be raking in all the fighters lately. Pretty awesome period we're in right now. I doubt I'll pick it up since I still have my PS3 copy, but hey, more video games made available to more people on more platforms is always awesome in my book.
@thephantomnaut: Remember when I said they wouldn't do anything with the netcode? I was wrong -of-fighters-xiii-steam-edition-now-available-for-pre-order-releasing-september-13-features-vastly-improved-netcode/
Lol I wonder what "vastly improved netcode" means. I kind of want to see someone playing online in at least a beta environment or something, just so I can get a sense of it. Bad online was what scared me off this game many moons ago.
Personally I don't really play online anyways since I play local players (some who did really good at both this year and last year's EVO) so it's not much of a concern to me but I do hope for the best or at least capable for those who can't find or make a community just yet.
If online is good then maybe a good amount of folks who played KOF98 or 2002 on GGPO. The XIII playerbase is mostly have been territorial due to local emphasis. I do hope online doesn't keep folks at home but encourages others to build communities locally and use online as an extension.
