Uplink not connecting

Hi there,

Trouble connecting over Uplink with a Structure!

I just got a new Structure sensor, hooked it up on my iPad Air, got the latest Skanect Pro for Mac and Structure apps, got them on the same Wifi, opened them up, set the app to "Uplink" in settings, and the Uplink button just never shows up on my iPad, so I can never establish a connection.

Are there any troubleshooting steps for this?

What kind of wifi router are you using? Could you make sure it does not block broadcasting? You can also try to setup an ad-hoc wifi network directly between the Mac and the iPad to see if it works this way, confirming an issue with the router.

Hi Nicolas,

I had indeed followed that guide, and the Uplink button simply never appeared.

I've tried this on three different networks now, one was a mac sharing its internet connection, another was a different mac on that same network, and now I'm at work and tried on our wifi, but no luck here either.

I'll try an ad-hoc network when I get home tonight, but it'd be great if I didn't have to take my computer offline to get Uplink going.

I am also having this problem,  I have tried setting up an ad-hoc network and working through the network.  I have not seen the uplink ever active yet on the Ipad structure app.  I have done a direct plug from the structure into the computer so I know that both the camera and the program do function properly together, any help would be appreciated.

I am having the same problem

No uplink button appears on the iPad air
Tried with different wi-fi, trying to disable the cabled network card, but no way

Can you please send some more information about how to troubleshoot this?

It's really disappointing that this is still an issue.

This is a fundamental feature being advertised with the Structure sensor in an extra $150 package, and I sincerely feel like I've been taken advantage of with the purchase of the Pro Skanect software in my Structure bundle, as the wireless uplink was the PRIMARY SELLING POINT over the Kinect which I was ALREADY PERFECTLY HAPPY HACKING ON.

If it wasn't for ItSeez3D stepping in, there would be no practical option (for many of us!) to use the Structure sensor to scan objects at a higher resolution than one vertex per centimeter or more.

And even ItSeez3D is limited to small objects and busts.  I wanted the room scanning, the indefinite sized object scanning.

Please, read this, hear your community, you've seemingly abandoned a fundamental feature, let us know you're working on it at least.
