What i must to do for work?
We want bye 3D sensor (and already backer of

"Structure Sensor: Capture the World in 3D"

but right now we need to try scan using X-Box.
i try to scan free version - but 2.5 FPS very slow.
if pro version work good - we want buy and work.

and - i see in demo video type of scan - "free space" -
we need this mode to scan room in bilding..

plz help :)

+ And more !
It would be very convenient as the option to record video that is received from the kinect for the convenience of understanding that we scanned .
we try to apply for a scan design of engineering systems. We would like to build a solid model of the building with the same accuracy (and I understand that this is about + -2-4 cm) which gives kinetst .

please help to deal with the FPS. I think that we have good hardware and it should pull more than 3 fps.
if needed for that would solve our problem to buy a pro - no problem .
but I want to make sure that it works at all .

sorry for the clumsy English - translated in google

+ Scanned in high quality.
at a construction site in lower nothing poluchaetsya - too often loses geometry.
a lot of open spaces.

In the log you can see the cause for the low fps

ERROR: Error while detecting CUDA devices: CUDA driver version is insufficient for CUDA runtime version
WARNING: CUDA device specs are NOT enough for GPU fusion.

What card do you have? have you updated your nvidia drivers?

in the laptop there are no CUDA
that is, I did not use the GPU for calculation
we considered a processor.
I7.
I understand that a fast CPU is enough.
or am I wrong?

I acted like this:
1. set KinectSDK-v1.7-Setup
2. CL-NUI-Platform-1.0.0.1210
3. Skanect-1.5.0-win64

I was confused now is this:
WARNING: No softkinetic DepthSense dll found.

and I had to skip the second paragraph?

Hi,

With CPU fusion and an i7, it should be pretty fast with medium
quality feedback (you can change it in Prepare->Settings). Also, can
you try settings "Recording" to "Keyframes only" instead of "All
Frames"?

Sorry for the delay, we were out this week.

Thanks,
Nicolas

and what do actually see the FPS on average, as in the I7?
now accounts for about 7-9

Hi,

With a quad-core i7, we can get 20-30 fps in medium quality mode on
our machines.

What does it say when you try to save the scan? In what language is
your Windows?

Thanks,
Nicolas

Russian version of windows .
we only need to scan the room.
sampled at the 8 * 8 * 8.
the way the project tried to assign a D :
I understand that our version is - on average, as scan , then do the reconstruction in high .

the problems :
1. due to the fact that we scan large open spaces we often there is a " loss of geometry ." I understand that the higher the quality - the lower the chance of seeing this inscription ? Can I do it somehow solve? can any ancillary things you can do. type air balloon or hang the umbrella deliver. We need usually ceiling of the room. usually it 's nothing special .
2 . No files are stored .

are there any recommendations for scanning large areas ?
eg 300-400 meters ? (single room )

and of course FPS 7-8 also think the problem :)

and yet there is one embarrassing moment:
if scanning on average, as is a failure (missing geometry or the camera moved too fast), and then picked up by scans and more. - That at once seems to be well aware that he was a failure, and builds the correct network.
but under renovation poluchaetsya complete garbage.
He does not understand that they were bad shots.

Hi,

Scanning so large spaces is not well supported by Skanect. The maximal
recommended room size to get a good quality is about 4 meters. To help
tracking, you will need to add "geometry" to the scene, Skanect cannot
track when it sees only a flat wall for example. Using floor/roof
corners can help, otherwise adding clutter (clothe, boxes) can be a
useful workaround.

Hope this helps,
Nicolas
