Dear Skanect Users,
Many of you already started to use Skanect with a Structure Sensor and an iPad since we introduced Uplink in Skanect 1.6. We are now very happy to announce Skanect 1.7, which enables
color scanning with a Structure Sensor and an iPad transmitting data to Skanect over wireless.
The steps to follow to start scanning with Structure Sensor through Uplink are detailed in this page:
http://skanect.occipital.com/use-structure-sensor-skanect .
Here is a summary:
- Skanect uses the color feed from the iPad, so you first need to make sure your Structure Sensor is well calibrated with the iPad color camera. This can be done on your iPad with a new tool called Calibrator, which is now available in the iOS App Store. You can read more about Calibrator in our full Kickstarter update or in the Structure Sensor forum.
- Make sure the computer running Skanect and your iPad are on the same wireless network. A dedicated router is highly recommended.
- Launch Skanect (without having a USB sensor connected).
- Make sure you updated Structure app to the latest version on your iPad, and launch it.
- Select Uplink in Structure app, and you should start seeing the depth and color stream in Skanect.
- Enjoy scanning!
This new Skanect release also includes a number of bug fixes, so this is a recommended update for all users.
As always, many thanks for your feedback and support, and happy scanning!
