CBC tomorrow!

We have a good forecast for tomorrow with high of 40F and 60% chance of rain after 3pm.  Unfortunately, the forecast for winds has been raised to North 20 to 25 mph, so be prepared.  

I've updated our sign-up list this morning, please have a look as there are a number of routes that I need confirmation about the people I've added.  I will update it later today and first thing Saturday morning, so everyone can see where others may be birding.

We didn't find a public place to meet before dawn tomorrow morning, so if you want to sign up at the last minute or have any changes, please text or call me at 907 612-0937.

Please try to put your completed data sheets in the blue box or send a digital copy to me as soon as you can.  I will put out a preliminary species list on Sunday so we can all look for count week birds until Tuesday.

Post-count meet up at the old Russo house (mile 1.0 Dyea Road) starting at dusk, to whenever.  Hot spiced beverages, alcoholic and non, provided; snacks welcome.  Come warm up, bring your stories to share!  and can drop off data sheets, too.

CBC folks:

The latest sign-up list is on the web site.  If during the day you find you'd like to fill in on one of the untaken routes, please text me and let me know what you're doing (so we can avoid having 2 people/groups end up doing the same route).

I'd love to get some photos of birds or people birding!

Remember, this is a volunteer effort - if you can't go out or can't complete a route, that's OK.  Just let me know, and write down what you were able to do.  Be safe out there!

Beautiful day at West Creek and some great looks! Here’s the count from this morning, nothing to add from earlier in week, same birds at feeder:

BRADY CABIN FEEDER (8-11 am)

Steller’s Jays 7

Magpies 3

Chestnut-back Chickadees 6

WEST CREEK- TAIYA CONFLUENCE (9-11 am)

American Dipper 3 (have photos, one playful bird caught doing the dipsy do, and a pair flying down river)

Raven 1

(No eagle in Taiya nest)
