A very interesting "Letter To The Editor'" titled "TEARS" by Ben F.
Klimczak of Wallingford, CT. appeared in the Meriden, CT. Record Journal
newspaper on the Editorial Page, Monday, November 23. The writer of this
fine letter tells of how on September 1, 1939, Poland was ordered to be
"Wiped Out" by Nazi troops. Poland then surrendered in 30 days. Mr.
Klimczak shed many tears because of this! In 1935, Klimczaks' first
cousin, John Gancarz, an American citizen, went to Krakow, Poland to
finish his studies for the priesthood. His dormitory was then taken over
by Nazi troops. He finished his studies, received his ordination, and
became the Rev. John Gancarz. Then on September 30, 1940, Father Gancarz
was part of a Death March and was killed. He was buried in Poland.
Father Gancarzs' mother, Rose, who was Klimczaks' mothers' oldest
sister, died December 30, 1940 from a broken heart. Nazi troops then
went to a farm owened by Klimczaks' uncle John in the village of Nowy
Sacz, Poland, and demanded that he give them his only cow. Uncle John
refused and he was shot and murdered in the kitchen of his home right
beside his wife and children! As Mr. Klimczak put it in his letter, "It
was tears, heartache, and more tears!" I would like to Thank Ben
Klimczak of Wallingford, CT. for writing this letter and Thank the
Record Journal newspaper of Meriden, CT. for using it on their Editorial
Page. Dziekuje Bardzo i Bog Zaplac! Thank You, Take Care, And GOD BLESS!
From, TOM COSS
