It doesn't always takes brains to make money. You can make money being an

He can and has but who cares, code writing requires no intelligence. It,

Fuck off you liying sack of shit. Bill Gates went out as a student and made

wow, bill gates is sooooo smart he even get people like you to post his
crap to non-MS newsgroups.
any of you all feel like bill gates uses you like pawns in a game of
chess?
I noticed there are alot of anti-MS newsgroups to which this thread is
being cross posted.
Perhaps there is a way to make this thread on topic in these and the two
Amiga newsgroups it is being cross posted to?
If you all really don't like MS then help do something about it. Either
start supporting linux 100% or help develope auto-coding tools that MS
can't take claim sole rights to or can't buy, steal, or otherwise kill.
MS is based on difficulty of software development. A mindset of "making
people need them" via making software development to difficult for the
adverage user to make use of in any reasonable manner. Where many argue
that users don't want to code (an extreamly arrogant and dictating comment
that is extreamly false but based on software development being
complicated more then it really needs to be.) Nobody has the right to make
claims that users don't want to create, nor the right to make it sound
more complicated than it really needs to be, for everyone puts things
together in one manner or another and usually in three deminsional space.
Software, binary is two deminsional.
MS is based on software market cornering, and as things are in the way of
development, MS has the market cornered for the majority of the consumers.
The Linux movement is helping to break this market cornering, but not
solving the core problem of software development overcomplexity for the
consumers.
If the consumers are provided with the right consistant software
construction tools to use, not only will MS foundation crumble but we will
find a large degree of innovation to be returned, perhaps far beyond
anything computer science has yet brought us.
What this got to do with Amiga newsgroups?
Not a whole lot, but only in that the Commodore Amiga was the first, and
perhaps still, only system that provided the general USERS with the THREE
PRIMARY user interfaces. The CLI, the GUI and the application/functionality
SIDE-DOOR (standard application/functionality arexx "PORT") that can be
used to control the applications or functionality external to the
applications standard user interface. The ability to automate applications
and functionality use, via external to applications/functionality, methods.
Consider these three primary UIs like any of the natural triplets in
nature. ie. colors of light, red, green and blue, which can be combined to
make any of the other colors of light. Remove one and you greatly limit
what colors you can make.
MS not only puts effort into making the DOS prompt (CLI) look and feel
primitive, crude and even deceptive in there system (in comparison to any
other modern shell), but provisions for the "side-door" are as well
difficult if even known about, for the general users. Developers are not
encouraged to make use of this side door in a manner that is for the user
to make productive use of, but rather something for developers to use in
creating modular software components.
So how many colors can the MS user make with one and a 1/3 of the three
primary UIs?
Yes MS is standing on a foundation based on the deception that software
must be difficult to construct. Remove the deception and MS will fall fast
and hard in their ways to promote and manipulate consumer stupidity.
current Amiga trademark holding company intends to follow this MS mindset.
Auto-coding at the consumer level is very possible, and has been for many
many years. But do you really think the Software industry really wants it?

Ok. auto-coding tools. Is this the same tools MS running on their IBM cluster supercomputer
to program Visual Studio? The same tools use by Alias/Wavefront to code their modelers/renderers.?
I heard it was also this tools that developed the latest codec technologie in WM8...
Really cool stuff.
I use it myself, people think I'm actually coding filter graph API... the fools.

MS is not forcing you to use an assembler... they have visual studio, and support
Basic, java, etc...
If you are bithcing about the languages available, then create one of your own.
Why would Bill create a langue just for 'you' ?

You want my dad to code his own Email software? his own data browser and support

when you want to do gardening you dont build a freaking foudry so you can metl the

Its no the 'still' windows support the same levels... aside that the windows shell sucks!
But then I never seem end user really use the shell.
Go to ms site, and do a search for automation....

MS got 10 bit per componant... amiga 4bit... so you need to dither and get

Fuck you, Fack is people DO NOT want to code. The ideal Os is one that does
everything and requires no knowledge at all. to apply this everyone wants to
know how to code assumption to other fields we see just how arrogant,
moronic and totally illogical it is. you are saying that people want to be
mechanics in order to drive etc, it's nonsence, people want ease of use.

Murray Rothbard said about people commenting on economics, and to

Actually he sold it to IBM in negotiations whereby he gained the upperhand
by being smarter than they were, he then went out and FOUND the disk
operating system. Yes he managed to successfully sell IBM something without
showing or even telling them what he had (well he didn't even have it at the

being good at that sort of thing, he managed to soutsmart men who made it

ROTFLMAO!!!!!
You really can't read, can you Stuart!!!!
LOL!!!!!!!!
Here's a clue - "Name one instance where it doesn't [ take brains to

The reply, "Writing music" IS the answer, you bufoon!
Ah, you just gotta love those who are so blindly devoted to a company
(e.g. Stuart's unfailing love for Microsoft) that it totally kills
their ability to read and understand simple language.

One. "I ain't a target, either," is highly disengenuious.
Two. In this instance the ' ' you have placed around the word target is
superfluous.
Three. The "dumb asses" comment you make is poorly directed and has no
discernable 'target' (hahaha).
Four. Your sentence is totally ambiguous.
Five. Your sentence reads that some dumb asses you know have previously made
the mistake of thinking you a target.
I am sorry for attack grammatical errors but in this case the errors are too
grave to be left untouched as the entire purpose of the sentence has been
corrupted.

What program 'waaay back' was this? Come on you wrote that he had.
All I've ever heard is that BG ported a basic interpreter from
one assembler language to another. The orignal listing it is
stated he found in a skip!

Then your parents never taught you your formal language, you just was born

I'm truely impressed. You could be another Bill Gates. Then again, more
oought than not.
You were taught to bark before you could 'bark'.
How biased is that... Showing Bill as a Borg, rounding is salary to 666 , talking about "Design
to milk every last cents.. " etc.. etc...
But I have to agree MS automatic upgrade pricing is a joke.
BTW, spending 100$ per employe a year to have their system alway use the latest and greatest
software version is not a bad deal.
Now if a guy is spending over 600$ a year per desktop to get new version, thats stupid.
Bill is not stupid by taking advantages of stupid people... that just doean't make him a nice guy.

True, but I'll not tell them that. That would put them out of a job. And
our state is such that we could use a few more jobs today.
And tomorrow. I understand they're going to have 'clean up crews' in New
York. Maybe they can find work there ?

Has it ? :) And you took "english" ? Shall you enroll in the
Microsoft Sux School of "American" ?? :)
Don't bother. "American" is totally ambiguous. We like it that way. ;)
Maybe I should spell it out for you... ...nagh, that wouldn't make you
'think'. Thinking is a sign of Genius.
:)
> MS got 10 bit per componant... amiga 4bit... so you need to dither and get
> a grainy result... with ham you get artifacts on top of that :)
<snip more nonsense>
Here we have *proof* of idiocy. "MS" doesn't have "10 bit per
componant (sic)". For one thing, "MS" doesn't and never did make
graphics cards. How many bits per component is a function of
hardware, not software. Furthermore, no graphics cards use 10 bits
per component, they use 8. (32 bit graphics use 8 for red, 8 for
green, 8 for blue, and 8 for alpha.) Going even further, only Amigas
from the 1980's that haven't been equipped with a graphics card use 4
bits per component. Later Amigas have 8 (for a 24 bit palette), and
any Amiga equipped with a graphics card can, depending on the card, do
24 bit or 32 bit just fine.
So, this just goes to show that brain-dead Microsoft supporters do so
because they don't really have much of a clue about what they are
talking about.
End of discussion.

_Fuck's sake_, you're stupid! Go suck Unca Bill's dick some more, and
maybe you'll be a tad smarter after he blows his wad down your thoat.
He got just the right time to join the sudden demand for home and buisness
PCs with operating systems people can use. He got a few good deals with IBM
to get dos and windows 3 on their systems, and so got his monopoly (at the
time his only competitors were unix, os/2 and apple). Once he had his
monopoly it was quite easy to become the evil dictator he is today.

programming.

Mmmm yes, I am not the one that thinks American is a language and that they
may communicate in whatever manner they wish and still be understood.
No I don't understand Latin. Do you? I do know what Quid Pro Quo means
as it is commonly used. You only need to do a google search to find
examples of what MS has done. Illegal use of a monopoly seems to
come to mind. Using google to find any evidence for this 'impossible'
program written by BG turns up nothing. Now please go fuck yourself.

I forwarded one of his choice posts to ab...@i4free.co.nz. It didn't
bounce so I assume it's a valid account. Now I'm sure i4free is a
free isp in nz. I'm also sure they wouldn't want their name associated
with the vile and threatening language that Stuart Hawkins posts.
That makes you a clueless moron.

They don't, but it still doesn't explain the contradiction in Gates'
case.
He was referring, Roy, to the old story of Gates' implementation
managing to merit the adjective 'amazing' once in a quote from somebody,
or something. Gates supposedly wrote something in a small amount of
memory.
As far as Stuart's "quid pro quo"; here you go, knucklehead:

Well, which is it? It sounds like both MS pricing AND you are both "a

You haven't the wit to know how lacking you are in wit.
Programming takes a great deal of planning ability, logical thinking,
problem-solving ability, and, depending on the complexity of the
program, sometimes a lot of sheer cleverness. It's no wonder that
mindless MS-supporters can't learn how, since it takes functioning
brain cells. If it really were "mindless drudge work," software
corporations would hire bums off the street to do it for minimum wage,
and collectively save billions of dollars.
--Eric
It's all about money. Harvard wants it, and _lots_ of it.
I once saw a list that disclosed the minimum GPA required for entry into a
number of universities around the country. They all had normal numbers
(3.00, 3.25, 2.75, etc) except for Harvard. You know what the minimum GPA
for that school was? An asterisk. There were no notes at the bottom of
the page, or anything - Harvard apparently either (a) has no specific
minimum GPA for new student applications, or (b) they keep it a big secret
for some reason.
The same list _did_ disclose that Harvard cost something like 5X more than
the next less expensive school on the list.
And? The best planners are usually not very smart.
> logical thinking,
No it doesn't.

Bullshit, it just requires someone with so little intelligence that they do
not become bored after checking hundreds of lines of code for errors.
> It's no wonder that
> mindless MS-supporters can't learn how, since it takes functioning

One. It requires no intelligence at all.
Two. Most people couldn't care less about programming ability, the same way
they don't care about plumbing, mechanics etc.
Three. You are just plain thick.

Please try to make a point next time, i am truly bored with your lame

I am a lot smarter than you, I recognise programming as being no different
from mechanics or plumbing, simple mindless drudge work.

I saw your point but I had assumed you were not that stupid, I had infact
thought it impossible to underestimate your intelligence, but as another
poster has pointed out, I had.
Writing music takes intelligence, it is a creation and fits under the seven
types of intelligence, as recognised by Psychologist Howard Gardner. If you
are too ignorant and stupid to know what they are I can give you a link to a
site.

They don't have a monopoly, there are alternatives and as such that means
THEY DO NOT AND CAN NOT HAVE A MONOPOLY!!!!!!!!! And even if someone has a
monopoly it is their property and they have every right to use it haw they
see fit.

Attempted monopolization is as much a crime as monopolization; if it
took him years to get it right, he was still breaking the law from his
first try. Essentially, Gates doesn't understand the difference between
earning a profit and monopolizing, so it is safe to presume, given the
huge amount of evidence in terms of Microsoft's business behavior,
strategies, and tactics, that he has been breaking the law since day 1.
