PLEASE DON LOTTER I HAVE FAILED TO REGISTER A GROUP. CAN YOU EXPLAIN TO ME HOW TO REGISTER A GROUP BECAUSE I HAVE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS YOU GIVEN US BUT STILL HAVING A PROBLEM.PLEASE HELP ME.

Do you mean register for a Google Account?  Every student must do this.  If you mean to get a project for your group then please reply and ask for this.

If your group does not have a project your group can do the following:

Google Calendar Project

Go to Google Calendar.  Create an event.  Put in the time and date of your presentation in DS200 (either 4 June or 7 June).  Make sure it sends an email to remind you.  Make it available to Public. Click add guest.  Add the members of your group, and ask Calendar to send an email to each one.

If you do not have the HANDOUT I gave in class, you can go to www.sjutlotter.blogspot.com   Click on the last link on that page to get the handout.

IN GOOGLE CALENDAR I HAVE FAILED TO ENTER AGENDA AND TIME BECAUSE WHEN I OPENED GOOGLE CALENDAR I FOUND BARS HAVE BEEN FILLED MY NAMES AND GMT, BUT WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO IS TO ENTER THE LOCATION.SO HOW IS IT DONE?

You will need to spend some time with Google Calendar to learn these things.  I'm not going to "hold your hand" to guide you to everything on these projects.  You must explore and learn by trial and error, just as I did when I was learning these things.

I tried to make my laptop to work properly through removing it's fist window XP, and replaced by window7,but still it is very slow,what can I do to solve the problem?

Richard - You made a mistake going from Windows XP to Windows7 on an older laptop.  The older laptops are not fast enough to run Windows7, which is made for 2009-2015 computers.  Windows7 is large and the old computers can't run it.  You should go ask the SJUT ICT staff if you should re-intstall Win XP (with Service Pack 2).  They will not do it for you, but they should be able to look at your laptop and tell you whether it is too old to run Win7.  Ask for Elizabeth in the IT lab, 2nd floor Admin Building.  Do not ask them to do the installation or maintenance.  That you must do at a business in town or with a friend.

Web.com charges money to host web pages.  You can make a free web page with www.blogger.com, but you must learn how to use it.  Go to our DS200 web site www.sjutlotter.blogspot.com (that web page I made in blogger.com) and click on the last link and read my directions for making a web page.  You can also make your web page from Facebook, just follow the directions.

Are you using the Ubuntu OS computer in SJUT lab?  Perhaps the Ubuntu browser does not work for Google Presentation.  You must use browser in Windows OS. If you are using a browser in Windows, then you must upgrade to a recent version of the browser.

 I AM POSTPONING YOUR PRESENTATIONS TO NEXT WEEK. Since you have a test today (Wednesday) I am doing this.

Go googe.com then search Google group after opened the page find Create a Group the n follow te Instructions You Must have a Google Email before dooing this.

TRIAL AND ERROR IS THE ONLY WAY TO LEARN THE MASSIVELY USEFUL TOOLS AND RESOURCES ON THE INTERNET.  THIS IS HOW I MYSELF (DR. LOTTER) LEARN THESE THINGS. IF YOU DO NOT STRUGGLE WITH TRIAL AND ERROR, YOU WILL NOT PROGRESS. It helps to do these things in a group.  Find a classmate who knows the Internet.
