LOCAL ELECTION NEWS
The following survey, with ten questions from residents of the
Junction Triangle neighbourhood on the west side of Davenport, was
sent to the four main candidates in this riding: Andrew Cash (NDP),
Theresa Rodrigues (Conservative), Wayne Scott (Green), and Mario Silva
(Liberal). Theresa Rodrigues, Conservative, did not reply.

COMMUNITY MEETING: PERTH-WALLACE CHURCH DEVELOPMENT
Thursday April 28, 6:30PM
Perth Ave. 7th Day Adventist Church, 243 Perth Ave. at Wallace Ave.
The new owner / developer of the church at the corner of Perth and
Wallace will be submitting a development application to the City. The
development plan, "Proposes to convert the existing church building
into a residential condominium building containing 23 residential
dwelling units," and, "a new residential condominium building
containing 14 residential dwelling units."
Please come to this meeting if you have any questions or concerns
about this development proposal.

COMMUNITY SAFETY AUDIT: WALLACE AND CAMPBELL
Thursday May 5, 7:00PM
City Councillor Ana Bailao's office, along with the Toronto Police,
have organized safety walks around various parts of Ward 18 to
determine local crime and safety issues. On Thursday May 5th 2010 at
7:00pm there will be a safety walk in the Junction Triangle area,
focused around Wallace Ave. and Campbell Ave.

JANE'S WALK: MURALS AND PUBLIC ART IN THE JUNCTION TRIANGLE
Saturday May 7, 10:00AM
A local walking tour of Murals and Public Art in the Junction Triangle
has been organized to take place on Saturday May 7, 2011, at 10:00am,
starting from the Railway underpass on Bloor St., just west of
Lansdowne Ave. The cost for all Jane's Walks is FREE. The Junction
Triangle neighbourhood in west Toronto is bordered on all three sides
by railway tracks and underpasses, making it an ideal place for public
art. Our walk will explore painted murals, ghost signs, graffiti, and
other public art throughout the neighbourhood.

COMMUNITY MEETING - STERLING ROAD DEVELOPMENTS
This meeting took place on Wednesday April 20th, and was
well-attended. Notes from the meeting are not posted online yet, but
I hope to type something up and post them to the Junction Triangle
website very soon. The upcoming changes to the south end of our
neighbourhood will be massive, so it's important that all residents
stay informed and involved.
