1) FUZZY BOUNDARIES: NEIGHBOURHOOD NAMING PROJECT

The second and final round of voting wraps up this Sunday at midnight!
You can vote online at http://www.fuzzyboundaries.ca/ or in person at
the Perth/Dupont location of the Toronto Public Library at 1589 Dupont
Street, Yasi’s Place at 299 Wallace Avenue, Nonna’s Place at 1540
Bloor Street West, or Boo Radley's at 1482 Dupont St.

2) FUZZY PARADE IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Sunday March 14, 1-3pm

"Fuzzy Boundaries will be bringing music to the streets of our
neighbourhood to encourage people to vote before the polls close
(online until midnight) and celebrate the end of the naming project.
You will also be able to vote in person as the parade passes - just
look for a Fuzzy Boundaries Parade Marshall with a clipboard and
ballots.
There are three ways to enjoy the music of the Baturyn Concert
Marching Band. A musical parade will be passing by a majority of the
houses in the neighbourhood. You can see the band go by twice at Perth
Park. Or, you can take a walk through the neighbourhood with us as the
band plays on."

3) PUBLIC FORUM: DIESEL vs. ELECTRIC RAIL EXPANSION
Monday March 22, 6:30-9:00pm
Council Chambers, Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen Street W.

This is an important public meeting with city and provincial staff and
politicians in attendance, and an opportunity for residents to voice
their concerns about increased diesel train traffic in our
neighbourhoods.

4) CAMPBELL-RANKIN COMMUNITY GARDEN: CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

The Campbell-Rankin Community Garden has a brand new website, and
they're starting to ramp up for the upcoming garden planting season.
This garden has continued to flourish over the past few years, as
local volunteers donated time and materials to beautify this
once-neglected patch of land along Rankin Cres. between Symington Ave.
and Campbell Ave. If you're interested in getting involved with
gardening at this site, you can contact the group through their
website. They will be meeting every Sunday morning at 10:00am,
starting in April or May.

5) "GIRAFFE" CONDO AT DUNDAS AND BLOOR LOSES AT O.M.B.

Ward 14 councillor Gord Perks sent an update about the proposed condo
tower at the north-west corner of Dundas and Bloor. The Ontario
Municipal Board ruled against the developers, preventing this building
from going forward. Details are posted here:

Do you agree or disagree with the OMB's decision? Feel free to
discuss it online.

6) DAVENPORT DIAMOND GRADE SEPARATION: UPDATE

GO Transit / Metrolinx sent a small update about this project in January.

In short, this project proposes to grade-separate the railway tracks
that run along the east side of our neighbourhood (between Campbell
and Lansdowne) and the CN Tracks on the north side of our
neighbourhood (between Dupont and Davenport). This would involve
creating a huge wall/overpass or trench east of Campbell Ave., with
the possibility of closing Wallace Ave. Whatever the outcome of this
project is, it will have a major impact on our neighbourhood.

In this latest update, we learn that GO/Metrolinx have purchased the
entire Newmarket/Barrie railway corridor, and the environmental
assessment has been pushed back to 2012. You can read the update
online here:
http://www.junctiontriangle.ca/node/558

A local community group may be forming soon to make sure that this
project keeps the best interest of local residents in mind. More
information about that as soon as I find out.
