PUMP UP PERTH PUBLIC SCHOOL CAMPAIGN
The grass-roots campaign by local parents to get a French Immersion
program and expansion to grades 7-8 is in full swing. The principal,
trustee, and superintendent have been very responsive to idea, and
encouraged the campaign to continue after the July 5th public meeting.
Local parents are now being asked to fill out a form letter, which is
available for download from the website, to express their interest in
expanding programs at the school. For more information about the
campaign, and to get involved, please visit:

There's a new mural going up on the south side of Bloor St., between

posted about it soon:

SUNDAY PICNIC IN PERTH SQUARE PARK + ELECTRIC TRAIN MUSIC SERIES
Sunday July 25, 11AM TO 1PM, corner of Perth Ave. and Parkman Ave.

This Sunday will be the final Sunday Picnic in the Park, which has
been happening every Sunday in July this year. "Perth Square has been
a neighbourhood hub for the last century, and is just the spot for our
final Sunday picnic. Originally a baseball diamond featuring teams
like the Osler Beavers, nowadays the park’s splash pad is its summer
calling card. Interestingly, Perth Square is the only park in the
Junction Triangle not situated beside a railroad. Bring your picnic
lunch to Perth Avenue at Antler, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m."

There will also be a drum band, Pound For Pound, performing at
12:30PM, as part of the Electric Train Music Series. This music
series, organized by the Junction Triangle Rail Committee, hopes to
"drum diesel out of town!"

More info about the picnic is here:

together to complete the building of the new club for the children and
youth in our area. We are asking the community for volunteers on this
day to lend a hand to assist us in the completion of our new center!"

JUNCTION TRIANGLE MUNICIPAL ELECTION ISSUES FORUM
Thursday, August 26, 8-10PM, at Boo Radley's (1482 Dupont St. at Campbell Ave.)

Mark your calendars! This should be one of the more interesting
pre-election events in Ward 18:
"The formal structure of typical all-candidate meetings has been put
aside so area residents can meet the people running for City
Councillor in Ward 18 and pose questions directly in a relaxed
environment. There is no moderator and candidates will not be making
speeches. Residents of the Junction Triangle can share a drink and
discuss issues one-on-one with the candidates. If you have an issue or
an idea that will determine how you vote on Monday, October 25, be
sure to join us for this rare chance to ask any or all of the
candidates their position."

More info available here:
