A Q&A will follow. All are welcome to attend this free event.

METROLINX/GO: GEORGETOWN SOUTH SERVICE EXPANSION
The Provincial government, through its GO Transit and Metrolinx
agencies, is planning to significantly increase the number of
passenger trains on the Georgetown South rail corridor along the west
side of our neighbourhood. This will include more frequent GO trains,
the Airport Rail Link, as well as major work to expand the number of
tracks in the corridor.
More information about this ongoing project is available on the
Metrolinx website:
http://www.metrolinx.com/gsse/
There is a significant amount of community opposition to this project
all across West Toronto. The Clean Train Coalition, as its name
suggests, is a coalition of community groups, residents, and other
stakeholders in along the Georgetown South railway corridor who are
concerned about the planned increases in diesel train traffic. They
are demanding three key things from Metrolinx: 1) Use clean-running,
quiet and light weight electric trains; 2) Maintain and enhance
neighbourhood connections; 3) Create accessible and affordable
transit for everyone .
if you would like more information about the Clean Train Coalition, or
if you are interested in getting involved, the details are all on
their website:

DAVENPORT DIAMOND GRADE SEPARATION
GO Transit is planning another rail grade separation project at the
north-east corner of our neighbourhood. This will involve building
either a very long bridge or tunnel from approximately Wallace Ave. to
Davenport Rd. Three different options for doing this were presented
by GO Transit at the April 22 meeting, and they all have significant
impact on our neighbourhood. It will be very important for the
community to speak up now, to pressure GO Transit into making the
correct choice when they implement this.
GO Transit have posted their information boards from the April 22
public meeting:
