Here is the process for students who are interested (this is on the flyer too):
1. Come into LARC to sign up for the preliminary interview (have in mind the courses and subjects that you are interested in tutoring)----
takes place over summer
2. Attend 3 sessions that will prepare you for the hiring interview
---takes place at the beginning of the semester
3. THEN complete the tutor application (found at
www.sjsu.edu/larc) **includes letters of rec**---
takes place at the beginning of the semester
4. Schedule the hiring interview with Karin, the Tutorial Coordinator---
takes place at the beginning of the semester
The flyer also contains the minimum requirements to be a tutor.
1. Be an
enrolled full-time student at SJSU while employed at LARC
2. have a minimum
3.0 GPA overall OR a 3.0 GPA for the two consecutive semesters prior to applying
3. At least a
"B" in each course you wish to tutor
