Hello SJSU Vietnamese Student Association,
I am Dr. Huong Nguyen, assistant professor at SJSU School of Social Work. I am emailing you to make a brief announcement about a summer study-abroad course in Vietnam in hope that some of you will be interested in joining us, or you can forward the information to people who might be interested.
This summer, for the first time, San Jose State University School of Social Work will offer a summer study-abroad course in Vietnam, led by two social work faculty (Tuan Tran and me). The 3-week course (open to undergrad and grad) will introduce students to exciting social changes and the fast developing social work profession in Vietnam. Students will travel along Vietnam from Hanoi to Hue, then Ho Chi Minh City; at each place, they will attend lectures at different universities, visit social service agencies, and also learn about local economic, social, and cultural life through sightseeing and other activities. We are trying to recruit more students for the course and I hope you can join or spread the words about the course.
