Hi Lucinda,

my name is Octavio Flores, and I am the SJSU IEEE secretary. The reason for this email to ask for your help to let faculty know that we are having Karen Bartleson presenting this following Thursday, so that they cold invite their students to attend.  We would like make a good impression from our chapter by having a great amount of students attending to the event. As IEEE President I have several areas of focus. First, I am working with the Board and the team that is proposing how to optimize IEEE governance at the highest level so that IEEE is positioned for the future as a flexible, nimble organization, able to keep pace with the rapid pace of change of technology. Second, I want to take action to ensure that IEEE is relevant to Young Professionals and Women in Engineering for the future. Third, IEEE is getting more involved in global public policy by bringing technologists and policy makers together, which is something I think can significantly raise the level of IEEE's positive impact on advancing technology for humanity. 

I am looking forward to meeting all of you!
